Nestled in the heart of the Valley of Wine and Roses, our stay at DuVon Farmhouse just outside of Robertson was nothing short of magical. Imagine waking up with a warm cup of coffee in hand, taking in the panoramic views of the valley as the sun begins to rise. The crisp morning air, the gentle rustling of vineyard leaves and the promise of a day filled with utter tranquility set the perfect tone for our stay.

The farmhouse, surrounded by a family-run fruit and wine farm, was the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Our home-away-from-home featured two comfortable bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The kitchen, fully equipped with everything from a stove and oven to a microwave and toaster, made it easy to whip up our favourite meals. The verandas have a garden view that leads to the swimming pool, from where one has an overview of the vineyards and beautiful mountains.

The farm also offers bridal couples an unforgettable wedding experience with breathtaking views of the scenic winelands and Langeberg mountain range. It was easy to see why this stunning location is a favourite venue for weddings. Picture saying “I do” against the backdrop of rolling vineyards, majestic mountains and a sky that seems to stretch forever. The spacious lawn, paired with the serene ambiance of the surrounding countryside, makes it an idyllic setting for couples to celebrate their special day.

What makes DuVon truly special for weddings is its versatility. The farmhouse offers cosy, self-catering accommodations where bridal parties can prepare in comfort and its poolside veranda is perfect for pre-ceremony photos or a relaxed post-wedding breakfast. There’s something magical about the way the light dances over the vineyards, creating a romantic atmosphere that feels straight out of a fairytale.

Evenings are equally enchanting. With the sun setting over the horison, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange and of course some wine to complete the picture. Sharing laughter and stories under a canopy of stars, it felt like time stood still. No phones, no distractions. Just good food, good wine and great company.
