We dreamt of a place in the shadow of a solitary mountain, in a valley of vines, fynbos and trees changing colour with the seasons. We dreamt of a magic little getaway shared with a soul mate, in the company of sunbird and crowned eagle, duiker and grysbokkie. With a Stairway to Heaven

Creation Wines in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley has long been a favourite destination for its exceptional wines and innovative and creative food pairings. But imagine combining that amazing experience spending a night in the vineyards and enjoy serenity at its best.
Set amongst vineyards, beautiful vistas with an array of birdlife, is where you would find Voormanshuis – an utterly private and peaceful retreat. If you ever wanted to stay in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, trust me this is where you would want to be. It is as intriguing to the eye as it is soothing to the soul. Rustic charm meets quiet sophistication. This is an experience of a lifetime.
Heavenly it certainly is, to spend time in this captivating self-catering cottage. A private driveway leads up to this piece of paradise with large modern glass panels, a viewing deck, surrounded by Pinot Noir vineyards.
Featuring natural elements such as sustainably sourced eucalyptus timber, the exterior is a promise of what awaits inside. The downstairs area greets you with a garage and your own impressive wine cellar fully stocked with amazing Creation Wines.
Walking up the stairs opens up to a spacious deck with a braai area overlooking nature’s beauty. South African artist Strijdom van der Merwe’s impressive “Staircase to Heaven” sculpture is designed to make you wonder and adds a quirky touch to the house.
The furniture and decor are modern with a fully-equipped kitchen, a cosy fireplace and a collection of beautiful local art from Pierneef, Marjorie Wallace, Jan Vermeiren and Christo Coetzee to create the overall impression of light and elegance. Not to miss the spacious bathroom with a shower overlooking vineyards and mountains for a beautiful backdrop. It’s quite the experience.
Here you can spend the weekend surrounded by the valley’s soothing vistas of vineyards whilst relaxing on the deck sipping on wine with sounds of birds adding to the blissful ambience. For the energetic there are various walking and cycling trails with two mountain bikes to be used in the garage.
